Well its been raining today in Iraq and its freezing outside so I'm just going to sit on my bed and write on this thing. Katherine and I are doing great, shes always trying to plan for the wedding and get the invitations done. I'm not real valuable in this area so i just try to help out when i can. Anyway Iraq has slowed way way down since my first deployment and even since the beginning of this one. When we first showed up here our rules weren't real strict and we always had a lot going on. Right now with the SOFA and everything else going on were just trying to keep the peace and basically have a presence inside the city. So pretty much nothing is going on and its pretty boring around here. I've been working out everyday for a couple hours and having occasional scripture study with my Mormon friend Gibson when i get a chance, and of course i call Katherine all the time cause I miss her a lot. Word for now is that hopefully we will be home in early June and probably back in the states by mid July sometime. Alright so i have been a gunner in my platoon now for like 2 years or something.... anyway i am on my 4th driver now and for some reason every time i get a new one he just seems to be a quitter and i haven't found one that can stay with me for very long. So i got my newest driver (Haun) and man this guy just pushes me to the edge of insanity all the time. He just does all these really annoying little things that drive me up the wall constantly. So i was sitting here thinking about why every time i get a new one he isn't any better then the old one, and i came to realize that this is Gods way of making me a much more patient person so when i have kids i won't lose my mind all the time. And its also probably his way of letting me see sort of first hand how my parents constantly felt with me when i was still at home totally out of control all the time. So I'm done here but i will try to write on here more often.

  3. What an awesome picture! It's nice to hear that things have slowed way down... I've had a bunch of friends go over there and whenever they return it's a good thing. We're thinking of you and can't wait to meet you! Keep up posting, it's nice to see a point of view from the other side of the world. Also, as to your idea of God making you more patient.... he has a way of doing that. I remember before Andy and I got married, I had 3 18-year-old freshman roommates and I was a Junior.... it's amazing how he figures out a way, isn't it?
